CINNAMON STAR BREAD

A beautiful cinnamon bun shaped into a cinnamon star bread!

Ingredients: For the dough: 2,5 dl plant milk 80 g vegetable margarine 25 g yeast 1 ripe banana 100 g sugar 1 tsp salt 550 g flour Filling: 80 g sugar

40 g brown sugar 100 g vegetable margarine 2 tsbp cinnamon powder 1 tsbp unsweeted cacao powder To brush Sirup For decoration (optional): Nuts Chocolate Powdered sugar for glaze Instructions: The dough: 1. Melt the vegetable margarine. 2. Pour the plant milk in a bowl and dissolve it.

3. Add sugar, the mashed banana, salt and the melted margarine to the bowl.

4. Add flour bit by bit, and knead the dough until it is not sticky anymore.

5. Set the dough aside and let it rest in room temperature for 1 hour. Filling:

Mix all the Ingredients for the filling together with a fork, and set it aside until it is needed.

How to assemble the cake:

1. Cut the dough into 4 equal slices.

2. Roll the dough slices into 4 equal sized circles (just like pizza crust).

3. Place the first dough-circle on a baking sheet and spread 1/3 of the filling on the dough.

4. Place the second dough-circle untop of the first. Spread again 1/3 of the filling. Repeat this until you have 4 circles on top of each other.

5. Place a glass, or a round shaped object, in middel of the dough.

6. Cut using a knife from the glass to the edge of the dough. First cut the dough into quaters, so you 4 equally sized slices. Cut the quaters in halves. Now you should have eighths. Cut once again the egiths into halves, so you get sixteenths. Look at the picture below for guidance.

7. Twist in a pair of the slices towards eachother. Twist each twice and close the ends by pressing them together.

8. Let the cake rest while you heat the oven to 200 degrees celsius.

9. Brush the cake with syrup. You can mix it with a bit of cacao powder to give it more color)

10. When the oven is ready, bake the cake for about 20 min until the crust is golden.
