in general we like crispy food (especially Anita!!) which is one of the reasons why we use these crispy tofu sticks in many different meals. You can use them in fresh spring rolls, sushi, tortillas or cut them into small bites and use them on a salad. If you don't like any of the suggestions - well they can easily be eaten as they are!

This recipe will make about 16 sticks NOTE: Start ahead of time so the tofu can absorb the marinade.
INGREDIENTS:
1 blok of tofu (200g) 1 small can of tomato puree (170 g)
3 tbsp soysauce
1 tbsp oil
2 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp syrup
1/2 dl water
2 tsp chiliflakes or powder
2 dl bread crumbs Oil for the pan INSTRUCTIONS:
The marinade: Mix tomato puree, soysauce, oil, smoked paprika, syrup, chili and water in a large bowl.
The tofu:

1. Cut the tofu into slices - approximately 1 cm thick. 2. Cover the slices in the marinade and place them on a big plate. Let them absorb the marinade in about one hour if you have the time. The longer they absorb - the better the taste will be. 3. Carefully cover the tofu slices in bread crumbs. 4. Warm a pan of oil on medium heat. 5. Fry the tofu slices until they get golden and crispy. The tofu slices are very fragtile in the beginning so they cant be turned over more than once. They are finished after about 6-7 minutes on each site. They are easy to turn if you use two forks. 6. Cut the tofu slices in half into sticks or in the size you prefer.
ENJOY! //Anita & Tobias
